There is a historical misrepresentation here.
In the past, young Aussies chinese will consider themselves , "I am aussie" or at best, "I am ABC".
Today, they will say, "I am Aussie, but of Chinese descent." The winds of change has rendered these people to be proud of their ancestry. And its not only the Chinese ecoomic boom , but Aust. as well. It's a win-win outcome.

There is a philosophical ethical principle which the goven. here has yet to learn: Spread the Wealth. It's also good for their kind. Had they done that there will be no such Marches.
In contrast, the Chinese do not have such a historical claim, no matter how far stretched the Indian saga may inspired them. Our ancestors came here by "tongkang", facing lots of hardship, but certainly with hope. Our descendents are now leaving by air, with disappointment.

The Ah Peks that stay, for whatever reasons, are full of nostalgia .... We each define our own meaning of life.
