Are you serious about holding our next gathering in a venue North of the Border ? I know for sure Ray is itching and keenly looking forward to it.

Met KC and Hari in Klang this afternoon for bah kut teh. I broached the idea to them and they appeared quite receptive. If other Apeks are equally keen, then we will set up an Organising Committee to arrange this party in Hadyai to be held during the fourth week of February 2008 (after the Chap Ngoh Meh festival), preferably on a weekday. There will be less crowd and we can have the town to ourselves. Also we need not have to worry so much about security situation.

I would suggest an Organising Committee comprising :

- Chairman - Hari ;
- Treasurer - Lee Kai Tong ;
- Information & Liaison (with Apeks) - MCL ;
- Transportation : (please nominate) ;
- Technical - (photography, video presentation. Leave CSL video out): Toro.
- Advisors : KC Lim & NBH

In an earlier posting on 5 Jan 08, I had given a rough estimate of the expenditure likely to be incurred per head. This needs to be reviewed in view of the likely presence of our Muslim brothers. Chinese dinner is costly and we always get sharked with the sharks fin menu. I would suggest we go for Thai seafood dinner on the first night and Thai cuisine on the following day. Taking these into consideration, I estimate that a sum of about RM400.00 to RM450.00 per head would be sufficient to cover 2 nights and 3 days stay for our gathering and holidays. Breakdown as follows :

- Transport by 16 seater or 24 seater bus - RM100.00 ;
- Room (2nights) + ABF - RM200.00;
- Seafood dinner - RM50.00 ;
- Thai dinner (2nd night) - RM30.00
- Karaoke & Misc. - RM70.00
- Lunches (free and easy) at your leisure.
- shopping, golf, massage, etc (optional).

Let's have your views on this matter. Dare we go for some thing different this time ?

In the event this proposal does not go down well with the Apeks, then we may organise a stag party to accompany Ray to the North.
