Hi Everybody:

I have just got out of 'prison' after serving several months of hard labour.

I see that the plans for the Hadyai trip are still on the drawing board.

Recently I stumbled upon a website of our Alma Mater Klang High School.

http://dir.home.net.my/ur?l=http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/2032/

This is the info from the site:

Klang High School, as one of the best and well-known schools in Klang Valley was formed on the 14th of January 1928.

Mr. S.C.E. Singam was the first principal of the school with 62 students. At that time, it was known as 'THE TEMPORARY ENGLISH SCHOOL'.

On the 20th of March 1930, the main block of the school was officiated by the Sultan of Selangor. Then in 1936 the first batch of Klang High School students sat for the 'Cambridge School Certificate' examination.

In order to cope with the increased number of students, several blocks were built:-
1928---Hostel block. Later used as the laboratories(Block B)
1948---Block H and I
1961---Afternoon session laboratories(Block F)
1969---Library
1972---Biology, Physics and Chemistry laboratories. (Block D)
1980---Physics and Chemistry laboratories with the staff room
(Block C)
1982---Block E
1991---New Block for form six classes.
Altogether now Klang High School consists of 9 blocks.

So our Alma Mater is 80 years old! Many of us were very active in raising money for the library. I remember going to Tanjung Malim and Ipoh to sell raffle tickets, the late Ricky (Geck Kong) was very enthusiastic in raising funds through the sale of raffle tickets.

Best regards

HSS
