I took a look at the card you want. I couldn't see a resolution mentioned, but try to get a get with over 700 lines of resolution, most cards are sub 400. Also, try not to capture from video, capture live where possible, VHS dedgrades image quality substantially.

Don't worry i'll be testing it to it's fullest to achieve maximum quality results d:-D and yes i will be capturing Live nearly all the time i reckon if i can. Using that neat record at a set time feature d:-) and others. As for vcr images looking poor, i can fix them up to a good degree. also i'll look into that resolution issue.
