Suave I hope you'll continue making your videos as MPEGs, for the reason you gave in an earlier message. Namely that it plays without problems across all formats.

For Mac users like myself, even with the latest codec installed, DivX is a.nightmare. If the video will play at all, the quality is frequently so poor as to make the video nearly unwatchable!

Thanks for your suggestion.Though as far as I could see all the Mac stuff on that site is much older than the codec I got from www.divx.com.And even at divx.com the Windows stuff is invariably one or two versions ahead of the Mac and Linux codecs and won't play on earlier versions!

I know that there are some utilities for Windows users that will convert a ordinary AVI into an MPEG. But as far as I know there isn't anything similar, or for DivX, for Mac users. There is a discussion about the problem and some possible solutions at http://www.macintouch.com/divx01.html
