Those of us from that era remember that the Annex Building was torn down to make way for Morgan Hall. I had no idea that it was built in 1917. I awlays thought it was newer.

You're right about the Artillery Building being torn down. It was a shame to see one of the orginal buildings distroyed even in the name of progress. I remember when they tore down the East Residence. I thought that was bad. I suppose time marches on and things must change.

From what my parents said, the East Residence was torn down in about 1928 in order to make room for the south-east wing of the Main. Was it really necessay? Looking at aerial views of the campus, it looks like there would have been room for both. But, of course I don't know exactly where the East Residence was located over on that side (I just guesstimated the same distance from the Arsenal as the West Residence).
