Well, just read some of these jokes again -- they are darned good.
Our town, Fredericksburg, Virginia is not a "dying" town, not with this item: we have an annual "Dog Fair" and it's pretty good. This year it is going to try to win the award for the most costumed dogs in the parade! You can't do better than that! Actually, it's a lot of fun. I think I'll try to go this time.
Ok, news of the day: I'm going to a Washington Nationals ball game (I almost put "baseball" game but I think all of you sports fans now the Nationals [the old Senators] is a baseball team). I don't keep up with the newspaper (since I don't take it) but did the President throw out the first ball this season?
Ok, where is Joan Hoffsteller? (is that how you spell her name.) I haven't seen her on here for a long, long time.

Fred, I will have to ask my sons-in-laws and grandsons about the Senators and the Nationals. I know nothing about the history but it should be interesting.

Okey Fred,
Googled Senators, and such, and found out that there is more info on baseball than I ever want to know, or could possibly assimilate! It's beyond me.
Did read somewhere that the Brooklyn Dodgers were once called the "Trolley Dodgers". Any truth in that?
Went to game on Monday night. Nationals lost to Phillies 2-0, but won the NL East Division Championship. What a lot of clapping, yelling, and fireworks went on at stadium when that announcement went up on the big screen. It was quite exciting. All the players came out on the field, after soaking each other with champagne, or whatever they do it with, in the locker room. Wives and children, too, on the field. Then the players are walked around the stadium and slapped hands with every fan they could. Very nice.
Have tickets for the 2nd playoff game, thanks to my grandson. I don't even know who they are playing, but grandsons will keep me informed. Three grandsons, and one of their girlfriends, at the game with me. Loads of fun.
