I am amazed at the lengths that some people will go to! My ex (life story posted already) apparently has told people he has throat cancer. What am I supposed to say to that? I understand that he doesn't want his customers to know about his meth use but throat cancer? His goozle (the little thing that hangs down in the back of your throat) became excessively swelled when he swallowed an eight ball. I took him to the ER under the pretense that I was concerned about his throat (and I was), but knew when I took him (because he was in paranoid schizophrenic mode)that they would send him to the drug and alcohol unit of a mental health hospital. I had a person that does contract work for him come up to me and ask how he was doing. She said he told her he had to go to the hospital to have surgery to remove a growth from his throat and he was going to have to have radiation! I was dumbstruck. Why spin such a huge lie? I understand that it's really not anyone's business but why not just say he was sick (he was very "sick in the head"). We live in a very small town and I know this won't be the last person to come and ask me such. I can't lie for him, but I don't necessarily want everyone to know his business either because of our children.
