Like I always say, if there's any doubt - then there's no doubt.
My ex used to look great, too, yet he was still using. I could not tell except for the fact that I saw no humility from him. He was so well cleaned up, looked and smelled good, too. That is only an indication that he is being very well taken cared of, plus, tweakers can take a lot of time grooming. Not all look like tweakers.
When they're high everything's alright - no problem. But coming down, everythings a struggle and they are so moody.
Remember, he thinks he is control of everything but that is the deceit of it all. Don't second guess yourself, Heather. It takes a long, long time to REALLY clean up - not a few weeks or so. If he was humbled you would hear the remorse and repentance - not any tidbits of arrogance. Go back to the hints at the stages of recovery but most of all, pray for strength and peace.
Don't stray from Jesus side, He will lift you up. I will pray for you.
