Hello all. Sorry I haven't been around much, but it has been a busy summer for our family.
Our daughter is now 5 months clean. She has put back on all the weight she lost while using. Back up to a health 128 lbs...from 110 back in Dec. She has a steady job, a house, she has her children and they are thriving and happy. She has a wonderful man in her life now. He reminds me of my husband. Responsible, gentle, loving, and the only thing he is addicted to is hard work. She once again is the daughter I remember. She is still looking at some jail time for the forgery charge I brought against her. Sometimes I feel horrible about filing those charges.Horrible because she is working for 6.50 an hr. packing household goods for a moving company, when a year ago she was making over 10.00 an hr. as a surgical tech. But when I remember where she was, and what she was doing...not to mention where she was heading.. I feel relief that I did it. What hurts, is that she is doing so very well. She has walked away from everyone...including her step brother, who still uses....and deals the meth. She is sturggling to make ends meet, and is doing everything she is supposed to do. She applied for drug court but didn't get in. The interviewer felt she was making progress on her own and didn't feel she needed the program as much as others did. Now we sit and pray the judge will do better on a blind plea than the 90 days to serve and 2 yrs probabation the DA plea bargined for. She goes back to court in Sept.
Well, I just wanted you to know that our prayers have been heard. I know this will always be a struggle for her. But she is surrounded by ppl who love and support her so God willing, she will stay free from this hellish drug.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support over the past several months. Thank you for being here when I needed someone to cry out to. I will keep in touch to let you know how she is doing. Hopefully, I can be a help to others in this same situation.
Hugs, Brenda
