Hang in there, the part about fixing yourself, listen to it. I have been going to Al Anon for about 1 yr now and I am finally getting to the point that I can laugh and be happy again. In the end it's not about the addict it's about you. There is nothing you can do for them but there is something that you can do for yourself. Keep going and give it a chance. You're not there to talk about the addict and what you should do about them, you're there to learn how to take care of you. Work the steps and read your books they will help. It will help you to let go and let God. There is a quote that I have to read everyday to remind me of letting go "Some people think it's holding on that makes one strong; sometimes it's letting go. Just remember that there is nothing that you can do for your family member; you can only help yourself. You will be in my prayers
