Kim - I don't know if your comemnt was directed at me but yes I was addicted to meth a long time ago and quit and smoked pot too. No it didn't lead to other drugs ever again, but it also didn't help me see reality. I know the effects of pot and the way it makes you feel and I don't have anything against pot as long as you can really stay away from meth. I know my husband couldn't even smoke pot or drink without going back to using meth. Not one addict is the same and that is something that we all need to realize. I don't call myself an addict because this was so long ago that i did meth - 16 years ago this month. April 8th to be exact was the last line I did. I am not an addict and I am glad. I have smoked pot on and off for years but at that time I had stopped all drugs and I think back now and don't know if I would have stayed away from meth if I would have continued pot at that time. I also know that I still hung out with all the same people and they never offered me meth ever again and never ever did it in front of me again. It's not until I realized that I was going NO WHERE as long as I was hanging out with them. Even after that I was attracted to addicts and that took me nowhere but down fast. I am in the right frame of mind now because I understand addiction now (for the most part) and I will do my damndest to stay away from the people that are comfortable living still. I hope that makes sense.

My husband is an addict and he taught me so much about what I don't want in life. I actually thank him for this lesson that was trying to be taught to me years ago. Sometimes we don't listen.
Keep up the good work.
Heather
