And it sure has been peaceful around here. The grandchildrens father has them for Spring Break, which has been a God send for me. It has allowed me to spend some needed quality time with our 13 yr. old twins, without having to have the grandchildren to deal with as well. DH and I took the twins away for a few days, and I didn't worry about leaving the house unattended once. I know I should feel bad about Val being in jail, but honestly, I don't. Does that make me a bad mom? I am enjoying basicly drama free days and I like it.

DH has been kicking about the idea of getting her out...I said NO Leave her be.She has to have this time to think. Think about what she is allowing this drug to do to her life...her childrens life, and her family's life. I refuse to cushion her fall. I filed these charges, I put her in jail and I'll be darned if I let him get her out.

Now, that said, I am open to the disscussion of paying her lawyer. Just dissucssion at this point. The only reason being that this is a felony charge....2nd degree forgery. I really don't want to ruin her chances of making s good living should she decide to stay clean when she gets out of jail. She is a certified surgical technologist. If convicted of a felony she will never be able to work as such again. At one time she loved her career. And was very good at it too. I just don't want to shut that door on her. Of course if she continues using, I wont hesitate to slam it shut as she holds ppls life in her hands everyday in this job.

I value your opinon here, Would paying for her lawyer be further enabling her? It seems the line between enabling and helping is so fine it is almost impossibe to see.

Also, When she does get out of jail. What do we do? If she wants to stay clean? Her 3 children are here. She no longer has a car to get to work. should she get a job, I would have to take her to and from. If she wants to stay some where away from the drug friends this is it....but will I be able to trust her? How can she stay clean if she has no place to live that is a clean and safe place?

I know I may be looking to far into the future....I seem to have it in my head that jail will cure her. I really know better. But am hoping she will stay clean. I know the odds are against it. But considering she has NEVER been in trouble and was very afraid of jail, maybe just maybe it will work to our advantage,
Sorry I got off track.
Bren
