 Due to overcrowding they let her out on an OR bond on Friday. She only spent 8 days in there. All except the last day on lockdown because of some girls behavior.
So far so good. She has been here ever since getting out. We have talked....alot. She wants to get into NA and turn her life around. She has admitted to having some cravings, but so far has fought through them. She seems to be sleeping normal which I haven't seen her do in several months. And there is no anger or antsy behavior. She went and bought some scrapbooking materials to keep her busy and keep her mind off the cravings. Today she is working with her dad. She says all her money will go into the bank...a spare empty savings account we have which she hasn't got access to. Tomorrow morning she has asked me to take her to the hospitals so she can apply. She says she will be willing to work graveyard shift so I can take her to work after she puts the kids to bed and pick her up before they get up, Then, she can get the boys ready for school before going to bed herself...besides graveyard pays $2 per hour more than other shifts. She says she plans on making things up to her children...God I pray she will.
I'm not as gulliable as I once was. I give her credit for her effort...at the moment. But told her if she is serious..we will help her..but the first time she dissappears...she's out.Forever. I know I'm getting my hopes up...but still trying to be realisitic. I told her she has alot of work ahead just to mend the fences at home.
She says she will do whatever it takes. We shall see.
I told her....She needs no cash here except for cigirette money (we don't smoke) So I expect all her paychecks to go directly into the bank so one, she isn't tempted to buy drugs...and second, for fines, court costs, getting her driver license back. and eventually getting a car and her own place for her and her children. That time is a long way off. But I want her to know it is attainable. If she truly wants it. We made it clear up front that we are not going to buy her a car, or get her an apt. or pay any of her fines. We will hold her money for that purpose if she wishes, but are not contributing to the fund. I also told her if she is serious about NA then she needs to get online or check the phonebook and call herself. I will drive her in and pick her up..but SHE has to make that first step in finding the meeting place.
I told her about this site....but she says for now she wants to talk to ppl face to face that are were she is. I think that's good. It is a place to start...but she isn't there yet...Daddy is doing an excellent job of keeping her busy.
Well that is the update here. Pretty much staying in constant prayer and watching for the signs she is fixing to bolt. So far no signs...she almost seems like the old Valerie. Only time will tell.
