and it took me a looooong, long time to even start remotely questioning it.

To set you straight since you seem to be unable to get it: I give a FLYING RATS ASS about Shauns opinion. His opinion is HIS matter. Same with your's and whoever. You could have noticed - that is, if you would have bothered to read the respective stuff - that I didn't say ANYTHING about his opinion.
It's HE who doesn't tolerate different opinions.

Like I've said - I give a flying rats ass about your opinion. Means you're free to talk whatever idiotic stuff , like your posts here - after all it's RRCC.

As far as I'm concerned I always talk whatever I want to talk and about whatever topic I want to talk. And if I want to make some fun of political stuff - THEN I'LL DO IT! That's how I mostly deal with idiotic stuff - making fun of it, doesn't deserve anything else. And I intend to continue this way.

BTW, there's a pretty easy way: Whatever you don't like, or whatever you find boring - IGNORE IT.

And if you should ask me, why I then didn't ignore Shauns post? - Let me tell you I enjoyed it. I don't mind if the conversation becomes somewhat heated occasionally. I enjoy it. And I enjoyed to write this too - else I wouldn't have bothered doing it. :)

When I left 3 years ago, this was a fun place to be...now it's all bitching...I try to start some fun, but all I get back is MORE bitching, nomatter what I fucking do?! What happened to you guys?! I don't reconize any of you anymore, and Robert, Joe, you guys don't know me, so piss the fuck off...sorry, don't want to be a part of this shit any more... it just isn't fun anymore

Do you think it's anything even remotely close to reasonable, when someone defends a sniper,
- because he's such a nice guy
- because him shooting at people is just his innocent way to express his opinion
- and in general it's abusive to criticize nice cuddly snipers.

Doing this may be caused by some protect-the-chickens-instinct, general irrationality or whatever.

Whatever it may be, you should be aware that acting this way confirms them that their behavior is ok - just look at AJ, and thus encourages them to continue it. Personally I don't approve appeasement when dealing with misbehavior or whatever rogue activities - but then again it's your decision.

And you should be aware that it was YOU who boosted the issue. Before it was just Shauns behavior being exposed and getting a little bit of well deserved retaliation. This would have been all - without your highly intelligent comments. But that's not my problem.

But to nevertheless answer your question:

Mabe you recall, I only opposed it under the current conditions and the way it was handled. And the events have proved that I was right, it's a major disaster.
The handling of the Afghanistan action was widely correct IMO, that's why I approved it. However because of focussing on Iraq and how the stuff was handled, the situation there too is increasingly getting worse.
I'm not completely pacified. :)
