After the terror attack in Madrid the Conservatives tried to link it to ETA, though the probablitiy was rather towards Islamists, to avoid troubles for the election yesterday - about 90% of population had opposed the Iraq engagement, and on the other hand as ETA attack it would improve their chance to win.
However it didn't work, and different from Americans the Spanish aren't fond of being deceived. So the Socialist guy won, and he intends to remove the spanish soldiers from Iraq.

I guess the next time will be tough for Bush.

...but only after the party in power lost the election, two days after it became clear that it was the doing of Al-Qaida.

Now, if we just get Berlusconi and Blair out of power then all European powers will ditch Bush... Unless you call Poland and Bulgaria powers, that is ;-).

and Poland - the only thing they're ahead of all others is corruption, even according to eastern standards.

Hopefully now the EU constitution will be passed. Now Poland is the only one that opposes it and they aren't even member yet.

...you don't want Poland to be in such a position that its bitching will mean something. They're probably pissed enough that the EU Constitution's preambles mentions humanism but not god.

Even if the Labour will have an easier time winning with someone who will act like a prime minsiter rather than the governor of a US state, Blair has enough power in the party to stay its nominee.

It may still take some time, doesn't matter though.

The 'Christian Europe' stuff still isn't gone completely, at least however it's a minority and additionally dwindling. Maybe the pope should emigrate to America. :)

The situation in Britain may change, maybe there will be some sort domino effect - the stuff Bush & Co. predicted for Middle East. *L*
