Hi James,
I was not with India but was in the valley with Lima. I found out a couple of weeks later that a close friend Bo Blostecheck was one of the KIA, s and if you haven't discovered by now what happened then I'm really sorry to say it was told to me that it was friendly fire. I learned this from India's gunny who I talked with at battalion rear when we came back from elephant valley.
I just sent a message to one of the wounded in that incident who was asking for info on others who were involved in the fire fight.
We (Lima) did try to give assistance to both India and Kilo but when we came off of a ridge line headed toward the shooting we were held up with a medical I called in for one of our platoon leaders.
You may want to talk with Guy Riddle 541-659-4670 as he too was a close friend of Bo as well.
Hope you find the answers you are looking for and maybe Guy can help you with what actually happened between Kilo and India.
