I visited their idea of Poets on Poetry, which I know as a relatively famous series of poetic books edited by David Lehman, but Alsop obviously felt it had a right to use such a generic name. I agree with that assumption since I do believe in trademarks. I also liked some of the poets that published, but their essays are so smug and basic. Insulting to experimental poetics, and while I would suggest that my highschool students check that out, because they would feel profound. But I think ALsop attitude is part of why poetry is both considered: on one level bloodless, and on another, elitist. Nobody likes be preached down to.
