Acupuncture in itself is not a sin, neither is it a sin to pierce ones body. There was a religion back when that was written that used piercing as part of its practice.
We even find that it was acceptable for the women to wear nose rings. That would shock many a Church now days.
The Eastern religion that is a part of acupuncture is surely wrong. If it can be separated from that, I don't see a problem. The Church used to teach that Karate was a sin because of the religion that accompanied it, but we have found that Karate could be taught without the religion and philosophy, I think the same could be done with acupuncture, mind you, it's not for me though.
