I have a 43 Willys with a Gpw engine. The ID. boss on the right front has been machined off and the head is secured with nuts and studs, not bolts.
Does this configuration mean much, or is it just a army jeep with a rebuilt motor?
The head has the casting, Gpw 6050 and the block Gpw 6015. the front frame horn has the Willys tag 272xxx and the tub# on the gusset is 178xxx.
This Jeep is 90% correct and original,we have owned it since 1962 or 63. It is red as my dad used it for hunting. Although you can see some green on the firewall behind the engine.
Thanks for any insights into this Jeep and it's history.
Brian
