The Balkar captain took every hit, bracing himself against the attack he had been waiting for. He did not try to stop it or fight back. Nikira's teeth tore at his muzzle and shoulder, and his leg and chest. Blood dribbled down from teh new wounds. He had had far worse in his lifetime. And indeed, his pelt and flesh was riddled with scars from battles of old. So this was nothing.
And yet the Balkar smirked, his cold glare smiling at Nikira. A low, quiet, menacing chuckle emitted from his throat. He slowly licked the blood from his maw that trickled from his muzzle.

"Very good," he said to Nikira. He caught Demon's remark, but ignored it. "There is some fight in you, as I thought. Know this: you need not kill unless nessecary. But you must learn to defend yourself. As a Balkar, you fight when asked or told. But you kill when you please. Unless the Mistress asks of it. Thus you must be ever-willing to fight, or at least defend."
