I've mentioned this tiny little site in a LOT of forums,
but if they are "visiting" they are NOT leaving any
messages. ANYWAY. I sure hope you do a few more VSTi's
Msybe one for "other" Woodwinds like Oboe, Basson and
Clarinette. And maybe a Brass or String VSTi. Hammer is
good for "tuned" percussion, how about those untuned
Thumps and Crushes.

Well anyway, Flute and Hammer ain't TASSMAN but they are
the only OTHER Phyisical Modeled Synths on the "market"
AND they are FREE!!!!! HEY!!! Charge and make MORE!!!!!

I think your two "DMI" products are pretty cool. I have not downloaded them, but I may give them a try.

A suggestion, why not expand the concept. I am planning to buy the "Tassman" Virtual Synth when

version 3.0 is released....SOMEDAY. But a brand of "targeted" Physical Modeling modules would be VERY

interesting as well. How about: DMI Woodwind, DMI Brass, DMI Strings, DMI Percussion etc.

They would have a much larger GUI to tweak the various instruments each module produces to add

Mute or Distrotion FX. They, would OBVIOUSLY NOT be FREE, but maybe US$50-100 each.

Tassman is GREAT, but what I just NEED is realistic Acoustic Instruments to compliment the ones

I will be creating via the Additive, FM and PCM "Hardware" based synths I own. Saxes are a PAIN

to try and create. They NEVER sound right. I'm thinking Phyiscal Modeling might do the trick.

HEY!!!!, I know!!!, it would be an EXTREME challenge, but, why not "DMI Voice" to produce a narrow range

of realistic sounding vowel sounds: Ohhh, Ahhh, UUUU, Dahh etc with "Formants" for Male, Female and

Child voices. You could cause a REVOLUTION!!!!! Pyshical Modeling has only just BARELY been tapped.

With VST, free of expensive proprietary hardware, PM could be ready for a "Second Coming". It's just

a matter of time before a gaint like "Native Instruments" breaks the ice. Why not beat them to it and

Patent and License your new algorythyms?

Subject: Hammer under SONAR and VSTAdapter: settings not retained

I'm using dmiHammer 1.1 in SONAR with FXexpansion's VSTAdapter v.3.
Everything sounds fine, love the instrument!, but after tweaking some settings and rewinding the track, I see all the knobs turn back to their default setting.
I don't remember seeing this happen with hammer v.1.0??
Any suggestions about why this is happening?

Thanks, John

I agree with Mike on the GUI. I like the sound, no I love it, but I too have witnessed the GUI playing about. I'd much prefer if the knobs set themselves to their true locations when you load a preset!

I disagree with his point about the static though. Surely that's what the "mat." knob does?

Though if I was going to be really rude and demand perfection I'd ask you to have another look at the mat. knob. Maybe it could be done in an ADSR way or have an option for different hit sounds to the "static" mentioned.

Apart from that it's smashing. And free! Jesus!

Well done you men!

Luke

Hi. Thanks for the new VSTi. A hell of a lot of potential here. Great bell tones.

A couple of things that might be worth pointing out:
- There seems to be a burst of static every time you trigger a note. This isn't too bad for harsher percussion tones, but it ruins the gentler presets a bit. I fiddled with every setting, but couldn't find a way to get rid of it.
- The GUI is a bit unstable. The knobs don't change position when you switch presets, and sometimes the GUI appears with the knobs displaced upwards a bit.
(My set-up: Cubase 5.1 on PC.)

Good luck with the Hammer. This has the makings of a damn fine instrument.

You may release (a) polyphonic flute(s) ?

I'm amazed because i thought that it model was basically monophonic ?
(a type of "acoustic model with sustained oscillation")

i suppose wathever it is that it would be possible to turn it in many monophonic lines

If i have a suggestion in mind yet : it will be useful to have the possibility of a polytimbral mode

I mean something like 8 midi channel ( for 8 mono lines ) AND 8 individual outputs
(...or maybe less,doesn't matter !)

I think it would be a good pro because those features are still rare on vst's
