The real question is where is Jim Douglas on Act 60 reform? He made reform a campaign issue. He proposed a 3 cent reduction in the state wide property tax in his budget proposal. However, when that reduction was actually applied because of the Act mechanisms, few "real Vermonters" would have seen any cahnge in their property taxes. Most of the benefits would have gone to out-of-staters, businesses and the higher incomed Vermonters (Humm, sounds like the group that elected Douglas!). The Seante plan would offered immediate tax relief and the Act 60 Reform Candidate, Douglas, never even commented on it!! Where is Governor Douglas on Act 60 reform? Hiding in the Bushes, whoops bushes, I quess?? Henry
