Robert,

You are right on target. Unfortunately, amny in leadership have different ideas and want to do battle with pillows rather than get into the trenches with the oppposition. Sometimes when you are facing an opponent that will stop at nothing to gain power, you have to take the gloves off.

As far as education goes, the biggest factor that is missing in the educational setting today is free: discipline.

Becoming more business friendly and thus attracting new industry to VT that can offer could paying jobs ( we need to better educate our workforce as well)will help everyone in VT especially low income families.

School Choice is despised by the libs especially the welathier ones that can afford to send their kids to private schools. Must be they don't want us poor people being around their children and having such a bad influence on them???

There needs to be an effort made to recruit real VT candidates, that can connect with the voters rather than put them to sleep explaining the details of policy. Charisma, guts, intelligence, etc it is a total package. We also need to stop putting our hands out to the opposition that has in most cases no intention of compromising but rather getting every ounce of capitulation out of us before they run us through the ringer in the press.

You didn't mention it but I am also getting tired of the ignorance behind statements that blame the war for the lack of educational funding. The feds have approved more ed spending than ever the financing has changed at the state and local levels which have nothing to do with any war. That isn't to say that I agree with unfunded mandates but the mandates have been unfunded for 30 yrs so it is very pathetic to use education and our children as a tool in the lefts anti-war arsenal.
