With all due respect to Governor Douglas, who I think is a fine man and will be a good governor, he wasn't exactly elected by a landslide. The reason we have election results such as we saw in 2002 is voter disenfranchisement. Only half of eligible Vermonters bother to vote and of that half who do, you see what happens. When the major parties reach out to include more people there won't be any need for all these little splinter parties.
