And for some even in your homestate of Vermont, the issue of guns is meaningful. Law enforcement who are pro-gun in their outlook may be opposed to radical gun-control laws. When they retire, they need self protection because they build a backlog on enemies who would like to gain a measure of revenge. Criminals, felons all incarcerated.
This would include law enforcement from you Vermont Highway Patrol, County Sheriff Departments and local police throughout each and every community.
This is the reason why you see law enforcement officers at private shooting ranges in their off times. Many of these officers are members of shooting organizations like the NRA. They would be very much opposed to the Rosie O'Donnell-Hillary Clinton anti-gun types.
