The POlls you are referring to are polls for individual states. And I would hope to God Dean was beating the Rev Al in NH and Iowa but if you look at polls done for the whole country. Like National polls, for instance, CNN/Newsweek does a poll, or a gallop poll or any of the other ones. Al sharpton Consistently drubbs Howie Dean. Dean has absolutely no name recognition and he has been campaigning the longest. For God's sake he only raised 300,000 dollars all of last year. Just as an example the Governor of New York George Pataki spent $44 Million last year on his GOVERNOR'S campaign. Dean is running for President, 300 K is not going to cut it, not even close and please check those national ppolls not the state polls.
