Subject: Additonal Information On Hector Fault Line; Susi

The Hector Fault Line activated itself near the site of the Hector Mines south of old U.S. Highway 66 near the town of Ludlow, California. This on the night of October 17, 1999. Although the damage from this earthquake was quite minimal, still this faultline can activate another nearby fault which can devastate an urban populational area. The Hector Fault Line displaced a freeway bridge (Interstate 40) near Ludlow, California. Traffic was rerouted onto old U.S. Highway 66 nearby this desert region. Still major damage was inflicted on the towns of Joshua Tree, Ludlow, Desert Hot Springs.
Again Susi, I suggest you better attain a copy of this book before passing judgement. A small earthquake in Vermont is not the same scenerio that of California, Arizona Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska.

Leland
