Subject: Welch will use Senate President for stepping stone

I like Peter Welch, but my support was behind Dick Sears. Welch has way too much ambition, and really wants to be Governor. I talked to a couple people days ago and heard that he really begged Dean to appoint him. He knew Shumlin would be leaving for his run for Lt. Governor. Well Welch wants either the second or first spot, you can tell.

I remember reading in the Herald that Sears pointed out that he had no aspirations for higher office in Vermont, and that Welch did. Welch tried to deny it, but you could tell her wants to be Governor. I wouldn't vote for him, he's too liberal. I voted for Racine in 2002, but I am starting to like Douglas. I really didn't care who won the Governors race, except any of those nutcases that ran besides Hogan, Racine or Douglas.
