When faced with cold hard facts, you choose to ignore the facts as laid out. The truth is Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D)-San Francisco, California made trips to the 15th district in Michigan to campaign and donate money to Lynn Rivers. Pelosi and other liberals hostile to Dingell because he was on the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association targeted Dingell for defeat over that fact. Even Michael Barnes of Handgun Control Inc. got into the act to target Dingell for defeat. (target?; excuse the pun)
The anti-gun forces took a bath on this one as Dingell defeated Rivers in a landslide. Rivers was financed by her old district powerhouse of funding which is a leftwing oracle of anti-gunism. The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Michigan has its stoogie professors and leftwing students, hostile to the Second Amendment, bankrolled Rivers in her defeat. They even went door to door, campaigning for Rivers over this issue. They couldn't stand an independent Democrat, just like in your case, eh Susi?
Tell a lie long enough, you will begin to believe it Susi. his is what you are doing. The fact is union members are gun owners sometimes. This is the same reason why eorge W. Bush received 71% of the union vote. This union vote he received was that of households that observed gun ownership within their domiciles. They were gun owners with an independent streak away from your way of thought.
Again as a former union worker (Communication Workers of America) I have the experience to know that many union workers are additionally gun owners and hunters.
Getting back to Michigan and the gun owner status of this state. Ever hear of Upper Michigan Peninsula? This area specilizes in fishing and hunting/shooting recreation. Many of the same union workers (United Auto Workers) from Lower Michigan frequent this area for the same expressed purpose as I illustrated.
