Subject: On The Subject Of Law Enforcement/Major Disasters Earthquakes?

Quoted from the excellent book written by Robert L. Iacopi. The book/periodical is called "EARTHQUAKE COUNTRY" This book is well documented and supported by the U.S. Geological Survey; California Division Of Mines nd Geology; Humboldt State Earthquake Center; California Institute Of Technology.
This book does not take a position on the issue of self protection; gun rights and the Second Amendment. Additionally this book is highly recommended by Drs. Lori Dengler of Humboldt Earthquake Center; Lucile Jones of USCS in Pasadena, California and Dr. Robert Brown; a retired geologist.

On Page 136 concerning the subject of law enforcement and the duties and responsibilities it can and cannot do it so states in times of a major earthquake with all infrastructure destroyed including highways, freeways, roads, markets, stores, medical facilities and other human basic needs.

.......CHECKING FOR DAMAGE AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE...........

"A major earthquake can overwhelm local law enforcement, fire and emergency medical personnel and resources. You cannot expect these agencies to react immediately to the problems at private homes-they will be busy attending to the needs of emergency centers and responding to crisis in major business areas. If transportation and communication channels are damaged, finding help for your personnel problems may take hours or days. Your best course of action is to assume personal responsibility for your own immediate area during the first crucial hours after the quake".

This includes mostly an area large in numbers in population. Perhaps an area liken to outhern California with a populational base of 11 million to 22 million covering major urban areas liken to Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino, Inland Empire, San Fernando Valley, Bakersfield, Palmdale-Lancaster, Ventura County, West Los Angeles, Long Beach (South Bay); Santa Clarita, Palm Springs-Indio, Orange County; San Clemente, Oceanside where the infrastructures can be destroyed under these circumstances of tragic happenings.
