I want you and your country to understand that only half of the United States supports President Bush. The rest of us realize that if Al Gore was elected, we would be better off today. We wouldn't have gone into Iraq. And we would have not treated your country the way we did.

What you and your country can hope is for a Democrat to win the 2004 presidential election. People such as Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, John Kerry and Dick Gephardt are all candidates. Each of them supports the idea of working with France, Germany and Russia in maintaining peace in the world.

Personally, I am not against all war. But war is only necessary as a method of self-defense. It was clear that Iraq did not pose an imminent danger to the United States. We went in illegally and betrayed countries such as your own.

I am glad you do not hate America. Normally, we elect presidents that are responsible and are able to work with others. Hopefully the 2004 election will be a way for my country to restore its honor and dignity with the international community.
