Hello John,

Great to hear from you.
It's been a hard start to the season for us at Lincoln. I would describe it a bit like jumping up two leagues, not one.
It's been a combination of having a very hard start to the season (playing the top teams early on), learning how to compete in this league and having some very bad luck. We deserved our point at Middlesbrough and Wolves but should also have had one at least at Sunderland and Liverpool and I believe we should have taken 3 at Wolves. At Bangor we played very badly but bounced back for the next game against Sunderland. We now just need some luck. We will be playing some of the easier teams soon and after our good performance against Leeds Utd (losing by only 2 goals), who had their full squad out with half a dozen England team members playing for them I am very hopeful that after we get our first win we won't look back. I feel sure that we'll survive this season and be a real force for next season. Let us not forget that we have had terrible injury problems from the start with as many as 5 players out at a time. If it weren't for our extra signings we'd have been really in it. I'm hopeful for things to come and will let you know how we go over the next month or two. We should then know whether we're going to do any good this season or not. As I say, after last Sunday, I'm hopeful.
My best to all at Chessy.
