I object all the hostility to Stoke and Stafford reserve teams. I play for the Stafford reserves and the idea that reserve teams should neither gain or give away points is unfair. This is in effect penalising quality clubs. The Rangers 1st team are in the Combination league. The size of the club and quality of players means that only the best are going to be able to play(in the 1sts) if there was only one side allowed per club. In practice, 1st team players do not play in the reserve side anyway even if they do not have a game that day. If this did happen there would be upset in the reserve squad because this would mean they would not get played. They are basically two separate clubs, with the exception of under par 1st teamers are relegated to reserves and on-form reserve players are promoted. But believe me, this does not happen as often as men's premiership outfits allow. This season only one player has fluxuated between the two sides.
