In general, yes one gets used to it. However there can be occasions when it is extremely obtrusive. Of course some parts of the village seem worse affected than others. Additionally, although night flights are theoretically capped it has been suggested that this only applied to take-offs not landings, which can be equally noisy. I would suggest that further research would be in order - does NALCAAN still exist (Newchapel and Lingfield Campaign against Aircraft Noise, if I remember correctly)?
