Route 409
Drivers stop to pick up 2 regular passengers at about 0740 by ST Piers lane, Dormansland, heading towards Grinstead, only a short distance up from the stop by the Notre Dame school. This is approaching a bend and on some occasions following traffic overtakes the stationary bus. Earlier this week we were very nearly involved in an accident with traffic going around the bus on this bend as we were coming in the opposite direction heading towards Lingfield. It is nice to see the bus drivers caring for passengers but there will be a serious accident at this spot sometime in the near future if the bus continues to stop here. No fault of the driver etc. but you have to factor in the stupidity of others. I don't want to see the practice of the bus stopping at unauthorised points along the route to pick up people who have not made it to recognised stops as this is a great asset to all. However I do feel that there should be a level of sensibility and discretion.

Has anyone else had a near miss here? I would like to hear from the driver who nearly backended me( well done for stopping in time) when I had to brake hard to avoid oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road (18 April).
