Subject: Pill Boxes Author: Keith [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 17:41:58 03/13/03 Thu I have noticed there are many decaying pill boxes in fields all along the Eden Valley from Tonbridge and beyond Lingfield towards Crowhurst. Any one in the community that can advise me where I can find more information as to where all the local defence points are and why the sites were chosen ? I suppose the route was anticipated for tanks if (god forbid) there had been a German invasion in 1940 but to understand the siting would be an interesting study for me.
