brought a holden staff zafira 11K, drove home, engine very hot, burning smell, checked oil, vey low, had a service by Hunter Holden before picking up car. oop's missed checking oil, lie 1, so yes we will do full service,
Noise from brake scaping, 29K, usually front brake as they have most wear, took wheel off, pad had a lot left, must be dust. Wife drives car, complains noise is worse, i drove car metal to metal sound. Take off rear r.h. side wheel, pad completly worn. Hunter holden oh thats just normal wear, zafira' are hard on rear brakes. plse pull other leg. I will have to pay for new pads, what about skimming the disk, to make surface smooth, doe's not need to done,oh.
NRMA report that the Zafira has same brakes as the Astra (vecta), they have a promlem of the rear caliper binding on the pins, this is rectified by cleaning and lubricating the pins (at 15K service ha ha) If the pads are worn on an angle, then the calipers are binding. Usually rear pads should last 2-3 times front pads. My other worry is the amount of detergents that go in at the oil change to prolong the service intervals, its not cheap either, as most taxi's change every 5K, due to a lot of milage
