Subject: That American Chap

Do you remember that American chap that used to do the monalogues, as though he had somebody else at the end of the phone.

He had a chat with Sir Walter Raliegh and .... well it was very funny.

I used to have a record (You remember them don't you?) and I seem to remember it was pretty old when I had it. (1978?).

Anyway his name was something like Ted Newbolt, or Ed something. Yes I think Ed.

Whatever happened to him?

I only ask because I was chuckling to myself the other day about "really you do what Walt, you grind it up, you put it on the back of your hand and you sniff it up your nose and it makes you sneeze eh!. Well I'm not suprised Walt".

Well it was funnier when he said it.

As radio is making such a huge comeback, and is beating TV in the ratings, perhaps there's a new opportunity for someone like Ed, or Ed himself.

Oh and about the record, even if I had a record now I couldn't play it. But If I had a film of him I could always hold it up to the light. Modern media is all well and good but the format keeps changing. Books seem OK, Film is pretty reasonable, written music I suppose is fine for recording sounds. But I can't give my daughter a record because a) she will laugh and b) record players don't exist anymore, unless you are really old like my brother.
