Every game I watch in the Illawarra legue I am astonished more and more at the pathetic standard of refereeing. I watched the Collies Burgh clash today. The referee, fresh out of refing U18's was way out of his depth.

He was indecisive, inconsistant, vague, confused and out of control.

As a Collies fan I was pleased with the result but it has to be said that the Burgh were truly ripped off when they had one of their forwards sent off for repeated high shots. The inconsistancy shown by the referee was shown with the constant cautioning of Collies 5/8th Dorahy for the same offence.

As much as I was pleased to see him stay on for our team, he should buy himself a lottery ticket.

Do we have to resort to plucking these clearly out of depth referees from our lower ranks? I hope to see him back in U18's next week or at least not refereeing our game.
