The danger in giving pub teams admission into grade is the here today, gone tomorrow syndrome, which is typical of sydney district football, but not what you want in an area like Illawarra with a relatively stable past. The fact that they have flouted the rules for years by paying $300 a game to players counted against them also, although this could not be proved, there is certainly enough anecdotal evidence to suggest this is correct. Then what happens when they enter grade, throw more money at it, by anyone from Dapto, Wests or anyone else who can be bought. What does this acheive?
