Subject: How Do They Pick Player Of The Round?

After raising eyebrows at the selection of Ric McGuiness as player of the round in spite of Corrimal losing by 34 points, it has been suggested to me that they actually pick out a different team every week and then take the player of the round from that team.

Because I didn't see the Corrimal-Burgh match I couldn't be sure that Ric was not the best player. He did score 4 tries and may have had a blinder in a losing team for all I know.
Then when I opened this week's program only to see Brendan Wall as player of the round. Now Brendan did have a decent game against the Tigers, but his performance was dwarfed by a number of Burgh boys. So, it it true that is how they pick the player of the round?

It seems ridiculous to give it to a bloke who wasn't even the best player in the match.
