A hideous situation has developed in the middle east where former front bencher Steve Martin was caught by a terrorist organisation whilst travelling between Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emerites, where he has been supplementing his meagre pension by taking the Wollongong University CEO position at the Dubai campus.
Martin laughed off the danger upon his appointment by saying that he always wanted to see the Dubai Zoo as well as the nearby centres of Narromine and Nyngan.
Dragged by gunpoint over the consevative Islamic stronghold of south east Saudi , Martin was mistaken for a Christian evangalist after his captors saw a repeat of the Movie 'Leap Of Faith'. Martin tried to appease his captors by singing to the tune of the country classic 'Elvira' - Al Kaida, Al Khaida my arse on fire, Al Kaida. After dousing the flames the ringleader demanded a ransom, but after Martin convinced him he is only a pensioner and that cost of keeping him in Saddam's old hiding spot would cost more than they would get for freeing him, they lined him up for execution.
Asked for a last request Martin asked to sing one last song - 'A billion green bottles sitting on a wall'. His last captor fell asleep at 999 994 764 green bottles and last reports claimed a well dressed individual with immaculate silver hair was hitchhiking somewhere near the Omani border.
