Date Posted: 23:03:52 08/30/03 Sat As I sat down on the hill at WIN Stadium last night I opened the Tooheys League program and checked out on the refs. I noticed that Murphy and Jennett were at their correct levels of capability (not fogetting Yarrow), moving up deservedly, was Riolo. Bonnie was reserve linesman (sans wheelchair) and in first grade the promising Lovey on one line. 'Grumpy' Brown on the other and 'Dopey' Dupille in the middle. Dwarves night out. I turned the page to the 'Refs News' and lo and behold an article by Grumpy on how hard it is to pick a decent ref for the finals and a quick flick pass to lay the blame on the Referees Coaching Panel. Poor old Keenahan (more famous as a skirt chaser than a referee) and his two renowned ex-referee cohorts Mangovsky and Crampton. First Grade kick off and the Dwarves lived up to their names and reputations as the 'little man syndrome' kicked in and they kept dashing up to each other for interminable chats resulting in weird decisions, all quite normal behaviour for them. Bonnie spent as much time on the field as he usually does, this time supplying Dopey with litres of (I think) water. Love kept his dignity and decorum in tact Thirroul played top class footy, Wollongong tried hard and Riolo deserves the GF centre.
