Subject: New Hosting for Our Website

Hello everybody. As some of you already noticed we had few problems recently with access to our website at http://chamberlain54.com The web-server at Massey University where we used to host our site is probably down, or, more likely, they just closed my account without notice. I was expecting it to happen anyway... :)) Currently all my web-sites, including this one, are hosted on my home computer. I installed ADSL at home with permanent connection (512kbps download channel, and 128kbps upload channel, i.e. 128+512 = 640kbps maximum traffic in both directions), i.e. when you browsing these pages the maximum connection speed for you will be only 128kbps (~13Kb/sec). I hope it will be improved soon up to 512kbps for outgoing and 1.5Mbps for incoming channels. Please also note that if I need to reboot my computer the website may not be available for few minutes, be patient, and try again later... :) Unfotunately my IP address is still dynamic even with such permanent connection, i.e. it changes after each reboot of my machine, and it is costs a bit of money to get a static one, but as you can see I managed to arrange all stuff with dynamic IP, so that chamberlain54.com is redirected automatically to my machine even if my IP is different all the time... These are all updates for today. Sorry for any inconvenience... :) Shoorick (webmaster). 28 July 2001.
