Subject: My deepest appreciation

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Grays,

It is with my deepest appreciation that I thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers during this very recent sad time. The beautiful flower arrangement sent by the Grays was deeply appreciated, and I know Dad was highly honored to be so remembered by this band of brothers. You are and have been far more of a support and comfort than you will ever know.

In the Star Telegram obituary, Bill Nickels of Surprise, Arizona, who had worked with my father for several years in the gun leather business, said that Texas has lost a son. I could not say it better, but can only add that another Southern son has gone home.

He is in the best of hands now, walking with those we remember and honor, and most importantly with the Lord he dearly loved. As always, I'm honored and proud beyond expression to be a part of this family known as the Order of Confederate Gray. On behalf of my mother, sister, and myself, God bless and keep each one of you.

YOS, To Honor and Serve,

2nd Lt. Preston Furlow
