TO MEMBERS OF THE ORDER OF THE CONFEDERATE GRAYS:

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,

WHAT YOU DID TODAY WAS AS FINE A SERVICE AS I HAVE EVER WITNESSED. ONCE
AGAIN , THROUGH YOUR EFFORTS TO "HONOR & SERVE", YOU HAVE DONE HONOR TO
YOURSELVES AS WELL. EVERYONE IN ATTENDANCE WAS DULY IMPRESSED AND MOST
GRATUITOUS IN THEIR COMMENTS. YOUR ACTIONS WERE MOST IMPRESSIVE.

OTHERS MAY NOT KNOW THAT YOUR RANKS WERE MADE UP OF PEOPLE WHO HAD WORKED
FOR A WEEK IN PUTTING THAT SERVICE TOGETHER, THAT BEFORE THEM STOOD
INDIVIDUALS WHO HAD TAKEN OFF FROM WORK WITHOUT PAY, USED THEIR OWN MONEY TO
TRAVEL AND OUTFIT THEMSELVES, OR THAT YOU (THE INDIVIDUALS) HAD BUT ONE
THOUGHT..."TO HONOR AND SERVE". YOUR UNSELFISH AND COMPLETE DEVOTION TOWARD
YOUR FELLOW MAN DOES NOT GO UNNOTICED NOR UNAPPRECIATED.

REST ASSURED THAT THE FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND ASSOCIATES OF CHARLES STAMPS WILL
REMEMBER WHAT YOU DID TODAY. MAY I BE SO BOLD AS TO SAY THAT...CHARLES WAS
