Subject: Dedications coming up

Well, the spring time events are starting to come in. In March we will have a dedication in Wills Point, just east of Dallas. Also in March, the Beaumont Ranch event (re-enactment) will find us setting up a recruiting booth along with the 9th Texas. In May, we have a dedication in Goldwaite, Texas for an ancestor of Leonard Newman.
I will try to put the info for each on the events page of this web site as soon as possible.
To those of you who gave so much to do the funeral of Charles Stamps, I commend you. As you know, no matter how much we talk, walk-through, plan and rehearse, the ceremony NEVER turns out that way, as you well know after the funeral at Rose Hill. Bottom line is that they all turn out GREAT. The "warm fuzzies" you get when you do a dedication or a funeral is more than worth the effort that you (ORDER OF CONFEDERATE GRAY) put out. I've always said that anyone can be a re-enactor, but you have to have the heart to do dedications. You have to have the heart to drive 200 miles for a one hour ceremony. To you guys, my most humble and heartfelt thanks for making Randys' and my dream come true to honor the compatriots that gave so much and endured even more in defense of their homeland and causes. I can't say thanks enough for the ones that do this thing that only they have the heart to do.
YOS HONOR AND SERVE
Sgt. Dan Hastings, Aid-de-Camp
