Subject: Post Oak Dedication---Bayonet

Just discovered that at the Post Oak dedication, someone must have gotten the wrong bayonet or got my springfield mixed up with theirs. My bayonet is an original springfield with the US stamp on the blade. It is in remarkable condition. All that attended the dedication, please check your gear for my sticker. I got one in my scabbard that has a slight bend in it. Not mine. I can't remember whose rifle was in the ground by the marker, I think it was mine. Anyhow, please check your gear and if there was a mix up, please bring it to drill on the 11th. I sure do miss my original. Thanks guys.
The coming dedication of Preston Furlows' ancestors at the Strouds Creek and Rock Church cemetaries will be really one you don't want to miss. We will have a small feed at the first dedication under a grove of oak trees then caravan to the next one at Rock Church. So bring a stool to sit on and maybe your plate and fork.
Attention Cav...we will need one or two riders to be posted at the turn-of of Rock Church so folks coming will be able to find it OK. This will be at the dirt/gravel road off of CR 2870 after you cross the Paluxy River.
There has been a request and one volunteer to post a guard at the grave site in Strouds Ceek Cenetary at sunrise on the morning of the 19th. Would anybody else like to really honor these guys and pull a guard duty? Let me know if anyone would be willing to participate.
We should have the Grays Flag at the drill on the 11th at the recruiting booth. Our booth will be adjacent to the 9th Texas booth and will be manned by all of us at one time or another. Please bring a stool or chair if you plan to help at either booth.
Any questions regarding any event, please post a message or e-mail me. Thanks guys
YOS Honor and Serve
Sgt Dan Hastings
