dude cox, that just doesn't make any sense. The hippies were at their dumbest when they were backing causes, and most of them I don't think even knew what the hell they were talking about when they were trying to back causes. And in fact, I'm pretty sure being upset by what band won something and then saying something about it is a cause anyways, and they were letting people know about it. Maybe that's being an asshole, but nonetheless they were still backing something. And anyways, I'd like you to try and find a "group" that isn't fake for the most part. You've got the "hardcore" kids who dress in black because they're idols do, you've got the "punk" kids who dress up in similar clothes to their idols, it's called being in high school. People will do what they like and that ususally invovles following in some other persons/groups footsteps. Get over it.

Yes, they like doing all of these things, but they are never claiming that they are or are not hippies. Most are not "trying to be them", they're just doing what they like and what they like involve all of those things you mentioned.
Sorry if your offended but I am tired of hearing people ragging on one group or another, it's rediculous.
